The pack were dominant and Kyle Scott and James Thackery made the in-roads from which Julian Thackery went over to give Ponte a half time score of 10-0. They then weathered a fierce onslaught from the Moortown youngsters, with full back Bradley Oates making a couple of telling tackles And Michael O`Donnell Ben Robinson and Andrew Fradgley combinding some big hits with some determined carries. After only a brief respite , Ponte took on a refreshed Wetherby side. Chris Widdop was unlucky not to cross after good work from Jake Hopps and Josh Beddis and though Wetherby took the lead with a contentious try, Jonny Fox`s powerful break levelled up the scores just before the interval. Wetherby crossed twice in the second half to secure the win , Pontefract were well led by Liam Greenwood, and can reflect on their efforts with a great deal of pride and satisfaction.
